Zamda Ireland – Container for Kabwe Appeal
EWB Ireland is partnering with Zamda Ireland on a number of projects at Sables Nua Children’s Centre, Kabwe, Zambia. Currently Zamda are seeking to fill a container of supplies to send out to Zambia to aid during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Our webinar series “RESILIENCE – Rethinking Communities in a Post-Covid World” will be in support of the “Container for Kabwe” appeal.
The following items are needed to fill the container bound for Kabwe:
- Clothing (new/ almost new) for girls and boys ages 6 – 16 (t-shirts, underwear, dresses, tops, track suits, football jerseys, etc.)
- School uniforms (grey trousers / skirts; blue/ white shirts ; yellow polo shirts. * School desks (old style), shelving, presses.
- School materials – maps, charts, posters, globe, art materials, data projector, calculators, science equipment, copybooks, pens, pencils, hard-cover A4 copybooks etc.
- Sports equipment – football boots, footballs, netballs, volleyballs /net, tennis racquets /balls, hurdles, high-jump poles, tug-of-war rope, Judo suits, Judo mats.
- Toys (like Lego, Duplo – no soft toys); jig-saw puzzles.
- Pre-school material – games, puzzles, abacus, colouring books, trampoline. *Bicycles / bicycles spare parts.
- Musical instruments.
- First Aid supplies.
- Toiletries (soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, sanitary pads)
- Skills training: – carpentry tools, building tools, gardening tools. Wheelbarrow. Sewing machines (manual or electric)
- Footwear – School shoes, runners. Chefs’ uniforms / hats.
- Kitchen equipment (big saucepans, frying pans).
- Computers- laptop / desktop (complete and working)/printer
- For the Hospice: bed linen; nurses’ uniforms/aprons / shoes; towels, incontinence sheets, adult diapers; gloves, cotton wool, gauze swabs; bedside lockers
