Summer Webinar Series: RESILIENCE – Rethinking Communities in a Post-Covid World

EWB Ireland in partnership with TU Dublin, are launching a weekly Resilience webinar series over the summer months taking place each Wednesday starting at 1.30pm. The webinar series will comprise a short 15-20 minute presentation from a range of guest presenters from around the world. The overall theme of the webinar series is “Resilient Cities and Communities” and how we can rethink and create these post COVID19.
Speakers will discuss topics ranging from building earthquake resilient schools in Nepal, to nutrition programs in Niger, to responding to COVID19 emergencies in Ireland and Bangladesh, among a host of other topics.
The purpose of the series is to prompt discussion and debate, and ultimately to harness the creativity of the wider scientific and engineering community to solve local and global challenges in a post COVID19 world. These events are part of the EU development education and awareness raising (DEAR) programme (EuropeAid/151103/DH/ACT/Multi) and the Build Solid Ground campaign, which aims to inform and actively engage EU citizens in actions towards achieving Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.
