Restructuring – Challenges & Opportunities

Like most organisations Engineers Without Borders-Ireland has been impacted by the global pandemic. Travel and event restrictions have required restructuring of our programs.
One of the great strengths of EWB is the ability to pivot quickly when faced with unexpected circumstances and innovate to find solutions. We see every challenge is an opportunity to learn and improve.
Educational Events;
We have moved online and will shortly be launching a CPD approved webinar series based around Resilient Cities & Communities with topics ranging from Design Innovation & Community Development to Citizen Science from Sierra Leone & Zambia to Kildare.
Projects;
While overseas travel is restricted engineering skills are required more than ever. Through our COVID-19 Knowledge Network we are collaborating with Field Ready and eTownz to design, test and manufacture innovative solutions to COVID-19 at home and abroad along with developing online tools to support our projects.
Grants & Corporate Sponsors;
We are engaging with grant funders to restructure our activities while meeting our contractual obligations, such as moving our Irish Aid UN SDG events online and restructuring “Where There Is No Engineer”. We are continuing to collaborate with corporate sponsors to develop ways their staff can get involved in our activities.
How you can get involved
If you would like to engage with EWB you can sign up for membership or support our activities through sponsorship. We also welcome technical pro-bono support for our online webinar development.
