New Webinar Series: “Reimagining Sustainable Development: Achieving Resilient Communities”

EWB Ireland are delighted to announce our new webinar series for autumn/winter 2021 entitled “Reimagining Sustainable Development: Achieving Resilient Communities”. This series is funded by Irish Aid’s Development Education Unit at the Department of Foreign Affairs. The series will run from October 13th to December 15th, taking place bi-weekly from Wednesday 20th October. Webinars will be held at 1.30pm (GMT+1).
We will continue the theme of our 2020 series: exploring new, diverse solutions to the challenges of our post climate change world. We will be joined by speakers from a range of backgrounds from all over the world who will discuss how we can reimagine how we live, the kind of cities we create and how we can collaborate across our different backgrounds and cultures to create more just, equitable societies.
We hope to inspire people to think afresh about what sustainable development means in practice and the opportunities we have to achieve it.
Webinars will explore co-designing cycling infrastructure in the city of Guatemala, how we can make our communities and cities more child friendly and more inclusive here in Ireland, tackling the global housing crisis through community led housing and much more!
Our speakers are drawn from the fields of engineering, architecture, landscape design, urban design, environmental management and arts and community event management. Speakers will present for around 20 minutes and then we will host what we hope will be lively Q&A sessions!
